Pianist. Teacher. Singer.

I started this musical journey in Romania, and then reached a deeper understanding of why music makes me happy and is such an important part of my life. My passion then became my profession. After a long journey I am currently settled in Amsterdam and Arnhem where I play, teach and sing. Many wonderful people have crossed my path on the way here so I will introduce you to a petite story about them and me.

After my musical studies in Romania I continued my master studies in the Netherlands with Frank van de Laar. My studies brought me close to music working with great teachers: Diana Dava Barb, Daniel Goiți, Horia Haplea, Mihaela Ursuleasa, Frank Peters.

My passion then became my profession. I was involved in projects like "De Staat" by Louis Andriessen, then playing the first piano in Stravinsky´s "Les Noces"  with Introdans dance company  touring through the country, performing Concerto in C minor for Piano, Trumpet, and String Orchestra, Op. 35 in Den Haag, with De Haagse Beek Orkest, and playing various chamber concerts in the Netherlands with Aristo Quartet, cellists Adele O’Dwyer, Andrei Ioniță, Inés Suárez López; Stefanie Janssen (soprano), Icelandic mezzosoprana Guja Sandholt, trompetists Mechthild Drop and Jordi Lensink. My spectrum of composers preferences varies, I enjoy performing contemporary composers and had the chance to work with Răzvan Metea, Cornel Țăranu, Adrian Pop, Daniel Schnyder, Jacob tV, Louis Andriessen.

Teacher

We are all different and have different ways of learning. I find it essential to understand each of my students’ personality. In my teaching method I engage diverse methods of cultural origin to develope the personality of a student and reach the potential of the piano piece through multiple interpretational choices. Its my goal to offer a student the opportunity to connect their personality with the composer that they are learning the music by. The result is enjoyable, the student learns to love the music and it sounds beautiful.

The children methods I started to work with are mostly based not only on technical exercises, classical pieces and theory games but as well improvisation exercises, imagination games and different genres like jazz, boogie woggies and musicals.

A child has to be encouranged to try different styles and expand his/her musical horizon with fun ways to learn and understand the complexity of music. Through the improvisation and imagination exercises a child not only feels more close and comfortable with the instrument they are playing but also developes a much quicker musical thinking, and an open and brave aproach to the instrument. From the year 2017 I started to prepare pupils for the ABRSM BRITISH EXAM with a succeesful first try and planning to continue for the near future with it.

I teach as well grownups, starting from scrach or not, with the goal of introducing musical practice into their daily life and learn how to play piano in a short time.

I was invited to teach masterclasses held in Ireland and Romania and have a busy teaching schedule in Amsterdam and Arnhem.

Singer

“Când cânt mă desprind de lume!”
"When I sing I detach from reality”.

It is a constant passion and a pleasure to step on stage and do something other than playing piano. The Jazz Quintet I am part of initiated in 2010 inspired me to continue my singing journey in The Netherlands. Through the years I developed my vocal skills with small band arrangements and have often included my folklore roots as well. Today I am happy to combine folklore and jazz in a colourful spectrum of repertoire and expressions of sounds.
